Details

Scattered patches of moonlight are cast down onto the temple path echoing the steps pilgrims took earlier in the day. Overhead, the scene is rendered in rich and vibrant hues attesting to moonlight’s wondering caresses. At the center, the temple’s structure’s intricate wooden architecture glistens like a multifaceted jewel. As the eyes move across the design, its skillful use of light unfolds in breathtaking realism.

Connoisseur's Note

This impression is a rare color variant. This version of the design has a stronger and richer coloration with more vibrant use of bokashi (color gradation) than the commercial version found in the catalog raisonne. The print bears the appropriate round 6mm Watanabe seal, making this impression a first state.
