This rarely offered exhibition catalogue is dedicated to the work of Yamaguchi Gen and Nakagawa Yutaro. Both Sosaku Hanga artists shared a similar aesthetic, utilizing strong wood grain patterns, found objects, and paper blocks in their prints. Nakagawa’s artwork is scarcely known beyond the confines of small Sosaku Hanga circles in Japan. This catalogue illustrates dozens of Yamaguchi’s most well known designs as well as highlighting Nakagawa’s most compelling prints, nearly all are illustrated here for the first time.
