This exhibition catalogue is surprisingly the sole reference with a pictorial focus dedicated exclusively to Yoshida Hodaka. Though there are other references that provide a cursory examination of the artist’s work, this exhibition catalogue presents the reader with a thorough overview of his oeuvre, illustrating the various styles Yoshida Hodaka practiced. Further, there are a few dozen designs illustrated in this catalogue that are not shown elsewhere.

At present, there is no complete reference on Yoshida Hodaka, and as such, those interested in the artist must piece together a catalogue raisonné via a number of books in order to get the complete picture of the artist’s oeuvre. This reference is an integral part of completing that formula.
