This recently published exhibition catalogue on the Sosaku Hanga artist Kawanishi Hide is one of the best references on the artist to date. Though there are larger hardcover references that are an attempt at a catalogue raisonné, this reference actually illustrates more work and highlights particularly rare print designs as well as original work such as sketches and oil painting.

The catalogue is in both Japanese and English as are the essays. This exhibition is based on work taken directly from the Kawanishi family, as such, the artwork is of the finest quality, illustrating its esteemed provenance.
