This exceedingly rare catalog was produced for one of the first posthumous retrospective exhibitions on the artist Koshiro Onchi. This book was produced in 1957, only two years after the artist's passing. The book illustrates 57 designs and a few of them may be unique to this publication. There are 57 black and white images and 5 works presented in color which includes one work reproduced as a woodblock print. Astonishingly, all the black and white images are in fact photographs of the actual artwork hand-tipped onto the book's pages. This highly collectible book is a must for the fan of Onchi or the Sosaku Hanga aficionado.
