This beautifully produced book illustrates some of Shin Hanga's most celebrated landscape designs by Hashiguchi Goyo, Kawase Hasui, Ishiwata Koirsu, Tsuchiya Koitsu, Ito Shinsui, Kassamatsu Shiro, Takahashi Shotei, Hiroshi Yoshida, as well as work by foreign artists working in Japan such as Charles Bartlett, Fritz Capelari, and Elizabeth Keith.

This book lavishly reproduces each print as full-page color illustrations. Of particular note are rarely seen images of original Hasui watercolors. Though most of the text is in Japanese, there are English translations of the titles of each print, forward, and afterword.
