The theme of this exhibition catalogue is mountains. Included are nearly 200 illustrations of artwork depicting mountains by a dozen artists that span different artistic styles and genres. Some of the artists included are Azechi, Hasui, Hiroaki, Ito, Onchi, Oda, Shinsui, H. Yoshida, S. Yamaguchi among others. I can’t think of another reference that brings together such a diverse group of artistic styles and genres to explore a united theme. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book.
